We are seeking Macedonian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Macedonian is a rare Balkan language, often needed in immigration and asylum proceedings.
Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time Macedonian ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret accurately, impartially, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native fluency in Macedonian and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong communication and telephone interpretation skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
