Job description

Overview

Patrols building interiors/exteriors and parking facilities. Monitors ongoing campus security issues. Responds to requests for assistance.
Provides initial response as needed, including first aid. Directs scene activities and
coordinates communication with internal and/or external agencies as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Protects life, safeguards property and maintains peace and order on the college campus through enforcement of local, state, and federal laws as well as college rules and regulations.

  • Pro-actively patrols a residential community and prevents crime.
  • Responds to emergency situations and works closely with local police and emergency services personnel.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations involving criminal or suspicious activities.
  • Prepares, writes and files reports.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned. Participates as an active member of the team.
  • Participates in department and college activities and supports implementation of shared goals and initiatives.
  • Provides backup support to other members of the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of experience and knowledge of procedures for effective security, codes and regulations related to the work, law enforcement
  • Understanding procedures, terminology, and techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, in person, often where relations may be confrontational or strained.
