About the Department:
The Center for Disability Resources strives to create an inclusive and welcoming community where individuals with disabilities have equitable access at Macalester by addressing barriers, promoting disability justice, and providing education across campus.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Provides disability-related testing accommodation coordination for Macalester students with approved testing accommodations. Coordinates exams accommodations including but not limited to scheduling and proctoring exams, facilitating testing accommodations, and working with faculty.
Collaborates with all areas of the College including staff and faculty training, awareness events/activities that involve the Center for Disability Resources.
Supports the administrative operations of the office including but limited to supervising student workers, scheduling rooms for events, monitoring and maintaining the front desk, and monitoring the departments general email.
Testing Coordination
- Coordinates, schedules, and proctors' exams for students receiving accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; organizes all necessary paperwork and materials for testing.
- Communicates with faculty as it relates to exam information and relevant materials.
- Ensures security and academic integrity of exam processes
- Stays abreast of best practices for exam proctoring and coordination
- Utilizes AIM Database system to schedule and coordinate exams and make case notes.
- Collects data on all testing coordination related activities.
- Stays abreast of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and other applicable Federal and state laws.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree
- 1-3 years' experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience with coordinating exams accommodations including but not limited to scheduling and proctoring exams, facilitating testing accommodations, and working with faculty.
- Experience providing general administrative support, supervising student employees including managing time-sheets, and interacting with department visitors including students and prospective families.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills required.
Timely communications and the ability to represent a department in ways that build strong campus-wide partnerships.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, faculty, students, alumni, and campus visitors.
Excellent attention to deadlines; dependable and timely.
Compensation:
$23.19-$24.25 Hourly
