Their duties typically include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Mac hardware and software, ensuring network compatibility, and providing technical support to users. Mac Coordinators may also oversee device security, software updates, and integration of Macs with other IT infrastructure. They often collaborate with other IT staff to maintain a seamless and secure computing environment for Mac users.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mac coordinator?

To thrive as a Mac Coordinator, you need strong technical knowledge of macOS systems, troubleshooting skills, and a background in IT support or computer science. Position Overview:
Are you a seasoned AV Engineer with a collaborative mindset, who thrives in dynamic environments supporting world class AV systems? Are you interested in joining a high performing team with a mission-driven organization that believes in providing safe, comfortable workspaces for their employees?
Freddie Mac is seeking a talented Senior Media Services Engineer to join our team!
Our Impact:

The Senior AV Engineer supports Freddie Mac's Media Services team by designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving integrated AV systems across the HQ campus and regional offices, including conference rooms, configurable event spaces, executive meeting areas, and hybrid collaboration environments. In coordination with the Chief Engineer, this role serves as a senior technical resource for AV engineering, system reliability, project support, commissioning, documentation, and escalation response. • Collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer on AV engineering standards, technical priorities, project execution, system lifecycle planning, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex AV hardware, software, network, control system, conferencing, audio, video, and signal-flow issues.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, calibration, firmware validation, acceptance checks, and quality assurance to ensure rooms meet Freddie Mac AV standards and business expectations.
  • Support high-profile Freddie Mac meetings, executive presentations, town halls, Teams Town Hall events, hybrid events, broadcasts, and campus events, including pre-event testing, rehearsal support, show-day troubleshooting, and post-event technical review.
  • Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, rack elevations, equipment inventories, room standards, operating procedures, commissioning checklists, maintenance records, and support guides.
  • Partner with Corporate Services, IT, Facilities, Security, Corporate Meetings and Events, business stakeholders, vendors, electricians, low-voltage contractors, and network teams to plan and deliver AV projects.
  • Manage multiple on-site AV projects and workstreams by tracking priorities, coordinating tasks, communicating status, identifying blockers, and keeping stakeholders aligned from planning through completion.
  • Review vendor work, submittals, shop drawings, punch-list items, service tickets, and closeout documentation to ensure technical accuracy, installation quality, safety, and alignment with Freddie Mac requirements.
  • Evaluate new AV, collaboration, control system, conferencing, streaming, monitoring, and AV-over-IP technologies and recommend solutions that improve reliability, supportability, and user experience.
  • Mentor AV technicians, installers, and junior engineers by sharing best practices, reviewing technical work, supporting troubleshooting, and helping establish consistent engineering standards.
  • Monitor recurring issues, identify root causes, support preventive maintenance, and recommend continuous improvements for Freddie Mac AV systems across headquarters and regional locations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in audio-visual systems, electronics, IT, networking, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience designing, installing, supporting, commissioning, or maintaining professional AV systems in enterprise, corporate, campus, broadcast, live event, or high-end conferencing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AV signal flow, audio processing, video distribution, control systems, conferencing platforms, microphones, displays, cameras, DSPs, switchers, matrix systems, wireless presentation, streaming, and AV-over-IP solutions.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Poly, Cisco Webex, Zoom Rooms, Teams Live, or similar collaboration and broadcast platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot integrated AV systems across hardware, software, network, cabling, control, audio, video, and user workflow layers.
  • Detail-focused approach with a strong problem-solving posture, including the ability to assess issues methodically, document findings, communicate options, and drive timely resolution.
  • Ability to create, read, interpret, and update technical drawings, rack elevations, wiring diagrams, floor plans, scopes of work, commissioning documents, and vendor closeout packages. Familiarity with Visio and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors, integrators, contractors, internal technology teams, facilities teams, and event stakeholders during installation, maintenance, repair, and project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support executives, business users, event teams, vendors, and technical teams in a calm, professional, customer-focused manner.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple on-site projects, urgent escalations, project milestones, maintenance needs, and event deadlines while keeping stakeholders informed and workstreams organized.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, mount, and install AV equipment as required by the role.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in equipment racks, ceilings, conference rooms, event spaces, and other supported corporate areas.
  • May require occasional early morning, evening, weekend, or on-call support for maintenance windows, urgent room issues, executive meetings, business-critical events, or project cutovers.
  • Must comply with Freddie Mac safety, security, badge, access, and workplace procedures at all times.
