Summary:
The Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician (OB/GYN), provides medical related pregnancy and/or childbirth and diagnosis, treats and helps prevent diseases of woman, particularly those affecting the reproductive system. May also provide general medical care to female patients all within the scope of licensing, training and privileging/credentialing.

Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications Required:
  1. Board Certification.
  2. Credentialed by the MDI Hospital Medical Staff to practice as an OB/GYN.
  3. Maintains membership in the Active Medical Staff at MDI Hospital in good standing.
  4. DEA certified.
  5. BLS, ACLS and PALS certified.

  1. Emotional maturity and excellent communication skills required.
  2. Ability to work with distressed or anxious patients or family members.
  3. Ability to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
  4. Ability to learn new techniques and incorporate them, through a new finding, into current practice.
  5. Ability to process and interpret complex information.

Physical Demands:
  1. Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours per day, bend, stoop, twist, assist patients in rising from exam table, push wheelchair patients, and assist patients in rising from and returning to wheelchair.
  2. Able to perform under stress.

Environment:
  1. Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
  2. Potential for exposure to infectious diseases.
