M&J is seeking a Materials Inspector to perform field sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete on District Department of Transportation (DDOT) projects, ensuring materials meet specifications and maintaining accurate testing documentation and equipment calibration.
Responsibilities
• Perform field sampling and testing of construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete.
• Conduct density testing, compaction testing, and materials sampling in accordance with project specifications.
• Document materials testing results and maintain testing records.
• Coordinate materials testing with project inspection staff.
• Verify materials incorporated into the project meet applicable specifications.
• Maintain calibration and operation of testing equipment including nuclear density gauges.
• Assist with documentation of test results for project records
Qualifications
Required
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in materials inspection or testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
Preferred
• NICET Level II or III - Construction Materials Testing.
• DDOT materials testing certifications.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
