Job Summary
As a school LVN, you will support the school nursing staff by providing basic care to students. Under the supervision of your school district clinical team, you are required to promote disease prevention, health, and well-being among the student population you serve. As part of these responsibilities, you will be expected to keep records of students' immunizations, and relevant health histories, in addition to monitoring conditions and administering medication in adherence to provided medical orders. Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, depending on the school to which you will be assigned within the district.
You'll need to meet the unique healthcare needs of students within the school, which could be related to chronic health conditions, individual healthcare plans, individual education plans, or a variety of health conditions ranging from typical to acute.
We are looking for a versatile LVN who is willing to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, and administrators. Our ideal applicant is compassionate, steady under pressure, and capable of meeting the various healthcare needs of medically fragile students.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides emergency care to ill or injured students
  • Verifies health and immunization status of students, taking appropriate action to assure compliance with state law and district policy/ procedures
  • Assists with screening clinics

  • Immunizes students in district immunization clinics
  • Maintains and coordinates health information for individual education programs (IEPs)
  • Confers with students, parents, and staff regarding student health
  • Types and maintains health office records, reports, files, and supplies

Qualifications
Education
  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program

Experience
  • 1 year of experience as an LVN in a school setting preferred

Licensure and Certifications
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of practice

  • BLS certification
