Job description

Overview

Lutron is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in Coopersburg, PA or Philadelphia, PA to help build and scale a modern, cloud-native data and AI platform powering analytics, real-time intelligence, and next-generation products.

In this role, you will shape the architecture and direction of our enterprise data ecosystem while applying your expertise in distributed systems, data platforms, and AI enablement. 

 

You will lead scalable data solutions, drive modern engineering practices, and mentor engineers across teams. Apply your experience in streaming pipelines, cloud platforms, and data modeling to deliver high-impact systems powering intelligent products and business insights. 
 

 

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of Lutron's enterprise data platform supporting analytics, reporting, AI initiatives.  

  • Define engineering standards, and best practices for scalable data platforms across the data team.  

  • Mentor Data Engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching.  

  • Design, develop, test and maintain production-quality data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark and other cloud-native technologies.  

  • Build reliable batch and event-driven data ingestion pipelines that process structured and semi-structured data from enterprise applications, manufacturing systems, Lutron products, and external partners.  

  • Integrate data from sales, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, engineering, customer support, and other enterprise platforms into trusted analytical datasets.  

  • Design scalable dimensional and domain-oriented data models supporting operational reporting, executive dashboards, self-service analytics, and AI workloads across a distributed data mesh organization. 

  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability for production data pipelines.  

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering 
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned 
  • 8+ yearsof experience in a related field 
  • Proven expertise in modern data modeling, real-time and batch data processing, and cloud-based architectures
