Job Summary

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, University City is seeking a supportive and dependable Teacher Aide to assist teachers in providing a well-structured, faith-filled learning environment. The classroom aide will work closely with the lead teacher to support student learning, supervise classroom activities, and help maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere grounded in Catholic values.  

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.

  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instruction and support learning.

  • Supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods as needed.

  • Help prepare instructional materials, organize supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.

  • Support students with special learning needs by following accommodations and teacher direction.

  • Promote and model behavior consistent with Catholic values, respect, and responsibility.

  • Provide general clerical support to the teacher, such as copying, filing, and organizing materials.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions and communications.

  • Participate in school-wide activities, liturgies, and faith-based events when appropriate.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or coursework in education preferred.

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.

  • Understanding and support of the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Patience, reliability, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively with staff.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred, or respect for Catholic teachings and environment
