Job description

The Role

We're hiring a Personal Lines Risk Advisor to grow our personal lines book by doing two things well: writing quality business that walks in the door, and building the referral relationships that keep new business walking in. This is a producer role with a clear path — quote, write, and retain personal lines clients while developing a network of Realtors, mortgage brokers, and other centers of influence (COIs) who send you a steady stream of warm referrals.

You'll spend most of your week in our Chapman Highway office quoting, writing, and servicing new business. You'll spend the rest of it out in the market — coffee meetings, lunch drop-offs, open house visits, and CE classes — building the broker and Realtor relationships that drive long-term growth. This isn't a desk-only role, and it isn't a road-warrior role. It's both.

What You'll Do

  • Quote, write, and bind personal lines policies — primarily home, auto, umbrella, and dwelling fire — across our carrier lineup
  • Conduct full risk reviews with new clients to identify coverage gaps and round out accounts
  • Build and manage a referral pipeline of mortgage brokers, Realtors, builders, and other COIs in the Knoxville and Seymour markets
  • Schedule and conduct regular in-person visits with COIs — typically one to two days per week of outside calls
  • Respond to broker-referred leads quickly and professionally, with same-day quotes and clear communication back to the referring partner
  • Maintain accurate records in HawkSoft and AgencyZoom, including activity tracking on COI outreach
  • Represent TCG at local networking events, association meetings, and community functions
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team on cross-sell opportunities into commercial and benefits

What We're Looking For

  • Active Tennessee P&C insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Sales-oriented mindset — you're comfortable picking up the phone, asking for the business, and following up
  • Strong interpersonal skills — COIs refer to people they like and trust, not to job titles
  • Self-starter with the discipline to manage both inbound quoting work and outbound relationship-building
  • Working knowledge of personal lines coverages (HO-3, HO-5, dwelling fire, auto, umbrella) — or the appetite to learn quickly
  • Familiarity with HawkSoft, AgencyZoom, or similar agency management systems is a plus
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation for outside calls
  • Knoxville-area roots or strong familiarity with the local market preferred

Schedule & Location

This is an in-office role at our Chapman Highway office, five days a week, with the exception of scheduled outside calls on COIs. Standard business hours, with some flexibility for early morning or late afternoon broker meetings.
