Job description

Lumos & Associates is currently seeking an accomplished Water/Wastewater Project Manager to help lead our growing team of water/wastewater design professionals. This position requires a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California.    

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader to help build, direct, and advance this technical focus group in northern California. This position will work out of our Roseville, California office.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and supporting projects for our water and wastewater clients throughout our current service territory. These projects will include water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, booster pump stations, lift stations, storage facilities, master plans, water/sewer modeling, and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

As a leadership position within the company, the Project Manager promotes and develops new and repeat business opportunities that are in alignment with Lumos & Associates' strategies and goals.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:

  • Strong technical background in water and wastewater design and construction management experience and have a demonstrated ability to serve in responsible charge capacity for water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information in public forums as well as interpersonal communication with team members and colleagues.
  • Possess a high level of creativity, organizational skills, and attention to detail, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage and oversee several tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Strong business acumen necessary to maintain project budgets and develop new and repeat business with existing and new clients.
  • Possess vision to help grow and direct the water/wastewater technical focus group in close coordination with the Lumos Group Manager consistent with our strategic plan and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, oversee, and direct the project design team during the execution of projects in responsible charge.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and delegating responsibility to staff.
  • Provide technical review (QA/QC) of projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact with clients.
  • Provide leadership in the development of new business and promoting repeat and referral business.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, qualification statements, promotional materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 8+ years of related water/wastewater engineering design and related management experience.
  • California P.E. license
  • Experience working in and managing a team of technical staff in multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including public/client presentations.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record with 3 or less demerit points.
