Visual Merchandising Lead Job Description

Job Summary:

The Visual Merchandising Lead is pivotal in creating a captivating and immersive consumer shopping experience. They ensure a seamless and cohesive in-store experience that involves strategic placement of merchandise, optimizing traffic flow, and creating zones that cater to different consumer preferences. The overall responsibility includes:

  • Business Results; lead all in store visual execution; manage and ensure smooth day-to-day replenishment and remerchandising as necessary, strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure the store is visually ready for business each day.
  • Consumer experience; effective communication skills with cross-functional partners and internal store team
  • Accountable; holds self-accountable to all Lucchese standards of performance, evaluates merchandising performance and identifies opportunities to adjust

Scope of job:

The Visual Merchandising Lead will execute all in store merchandising displays to enable the front of house and sales team deliver exceptional experiences by always making sure the store is set up for success and visually appealing. In this role, you will ensure the store is merchandised to brand standards, product is organized, tagged, and all current product is represented on the floor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Execute all visual directives by the deadline, submit photos, and adjust accordingly
  • Train and develop store team to help support and maintain visual standards
  • Communicate with store, product, and executive team as needed
  • Ensure all current merchandise is represented on the sales floor
  • Accurately receive and tag retail goods upon arrival
  • Attend monthly visual conference calls
  • Support any private or public in store events
  • Stay current with retail trends and competitors in the marketplace
  • Utilize an in-depth understanding of the consumer to merchandise and make substitutions when necessary
  • Analyze sales data to understand performance of displays and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Ensure stock room inventory and visual elements are organized and easily accessible
  • Accurately receive and tag retail goods upon arrival, following with proper placement on both sales floor and stock room
  • Assist and support the sales team during peak business by getting product quickly and efficiently to the sales team to provide a seamless experience
  • Proactively plans for visual supply needs within budget parameters

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate with GTM team, executive team, product and store teams
  • Ability to teach and develop store team’s merchandising standards

  • Open availability to work full-time, 5 days a week.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications:

  • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A Minimum of 1+ years visual merchandising experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move with purpose and maneuver around the sales floor, small stockrooms, and office areas.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and climb a ladder frequently
  • Must be able to squat and bend
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Prolonged periods of working on your feet, lifting, bending, and using Visual Merchandising elements.
  • May require early morning or late evening scheduled shifts
