Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Assurance (QA) Representative to support a significant federal construction project taking place in Edinburg, TX. This role is critical to ensuring all work meets rigorous federal standards for quality, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate will provide on-site construction inspection throughout the project lifecycle, coordinate with contractors and federal personnel, and proactively identify and resolve issues to keep projects on track.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, federal codes, and safety regulations
  • Conduct on-site inspections, review contractor submittals, and document construction progress
  • Identify and report workmanship or material deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical or quality-related issues
  • Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality incidents
  • Prepare and present detailed QA reports to federal stakeholders
  • Support pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and punch-list inspections
  • Ensure all documentation is in accordance with federal facility requirements and protocols


Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or construction quality assurance, preferably with a strong background in federal or large institutional projects
  • Preference for candidates with US Army Corps of Engineers experience
  • Preference for candidates with USACE-CQM certification
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
  • Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and federal regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to work cohesively with a diverse project team
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check
  • Proficiency with common office software and construction management tools


Work Environment

This position is based on-site at a federal construction site and will involve exposure to active construction areas, requiring the use of personal protective equipment. There is no per diem or living stipend available for this position.


Working Hours
40-hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday, but will require some night and weekend hours due to an aggressive construction schedule.
