Job description

Licensed Practical Nurse – Corrections
Location: Central City, KY
Rate: Up to $1500.00 Gross Weekly + benefits available from day 1
Shift: Both 12-Hour Days or Nights available
Contract: 13-Week Contract | Local & Travel Accepted
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Active, unencumbered LPN license in KY
  • Must be willing to work in a correctional facility environment

Certifications:

  • AHA BLS

Responsibilities:

  • Medication administration and pass under RN supervision
  • Assist RN with patient assessments and care in health care unit and housing units
  • Perform controlled substance counts each shift with proper documentation
  • Obtain EKGs and lab specimens as ordered
  • Respond to medical emergencies and codes per facility protocol
  • Assist with minor procedures as needed
  • Document nursing care using SOAP charting
  • Follow established safety, infection control, and correctional facility protocols
