An LPN Medical Coder is a Licensed Practical Nurse who specializes in reviewing medical records and assigning standardized codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments. They use their clinical knowledge to interpret healthcare documentation and ensure accurate coding for billing and insurance purposes. This role combines the practical experience of nursing with the technical skills of medical coding to support healthcare providers and maintain compliance with regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an LPN medical coder?

To thrive as an LPN Medical Coder, you need a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems, typically supported by an LPN license and coding certification such as CPC or CCS.
