Dominion Hospital, the only freestanding mental health facility in Northern VA, is seeking an experienced Outpatient Behavioral Health Manager to help lead and support our outpatient programs. In this key role, you will be responsible for the clinical and administrative functioning of the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program. The Outpatient Behavioral Health Manager functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team and works in cooperation with the Program Director for Adolescent Services to ensure overall quality and standards of patient care. The Outpatient Behavioral Health Manager will perform additional duties including program functioning, coordination, monitoring, & ensuring quality of care and compliance with regulating entities.

What You'll Do
Ensures effective crisis intervention as needed according to policy and CPI criteria
Ensures creation and maintenance of ongoing individualized treatment planning with criteria met as outlined by policy.
Demonstrates understanding diagnosis provides treatment appropriate to the specific diagnosis.
Implements evidence-based practices into care
Plans and utilizes a collaborative interdepartmental approach in managing patient care.
Collaborates with physicians to ensure care coordination with the entire treatment team.
Oversees the quality of interventions provided to the patient, family/significant other.
Evaluates the quality of the groups and documentation of the therapist.
Oversees the case management responsibilities of the program and ensures the necessary referral sources, physicians, patients, and others are aware of discharge planning.
Ensures compliance of all safety, infection, and quality improvement policies.
Assures all treatment measures comply with HBIPS, Joint Commission, and CMS standards
Ensures completion of medical records in accordance with policies and procedures within established guidelines by all staff in the program.
Maintains confidentiality of information of patients by adhering to State and HIPAA guidelines. Assures signed consents are completed before communicating with others.
Demonstrates awareness and respect to the patient, family, and or significant other.
Treats all patients with dignity, considering cultural, ethnic, religious, physical, sexual, and psychological needs. Advocates for patients’ rights. Reports abuse as identified.
Manages program according to budgetary guidelines, including productivity, expense control, and supply management.
Ensures appropriate interaction, role modeling, and boundaries of staff between each other, patients, families, and referral sources.
Participates in building and mentoring the census
Assists in developing and implementing the marketing plan of the Program
Develops and maintains sound relationships with community agencies, private practitioners, and other community-based groups to provide coordination of treatment services to patients and to enhance referral development potential
Works with the Program Director to address all employee issues
Serves as a role model for the clinical staff in programming and documentation
Provides an environment where employees can share ideas that can improve the quality of care and overall patient satisfaction.
Provides the environment for the physicians to work effectively with the patients and staff.
Attends all hospital meetings as required.
Assists in developing continuing education opportunities for clinical staff and maintaining required records
Completes all employee evaluations on time.
Ensure staff meet all annual educational training and position competencies
Serves as a clinical role model in observation skills, assessment of behavior, and ways to interact therapeutically through active participation in the various therapies
Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s of Science in, Social Work, Psychology or other related field required.
Licensure: Current LCSW, LPC in the in the state of employment or a multi-state compact license, as applicable.
Certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required and Crisis Prevention Institute required as a part of the general hospital orientation.
Experience: Clinical Experience: Three (3) plus years of clinical experience specifically in a behavioral health environment.
Management Experience: Three (3) plus years of management in a clinical setting
