Substance Use Clinical Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Providing clinical supervision to staff responsible for delivering services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Overseeing client services and ensuring compliance with established program standards and service delivery objectives
  • Auditing client records
  • Assisting in interviewing, selecting, evaluating, scheduling and disciplining assigned staff
  • Orienting and training staff
  • Serving as a resource to assigned staff in identifying and resolving complex case problems
  • Assuming client caseload in response to work load or staffing shortages
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supervises assigned staff in hospital settings pursuant to a federal grant

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field required
  • Current certification as a substance abuse counselor (CADC) or higher licensure (LPC, LSW) in state of hire required.
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in the treatment of substance abuse with at least 1 year of supervisory experience is required
  • Related work experience with program specific population (adolescent/adult) and residential treatment setting required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy, to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, read
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data
  • Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises

Compensation:

  • Range begins at $70,000-$80,000
  • Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
  • Starting rates are determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
  • Alpharus Health conducts annual performance reviews, with merit increase eligbility determined by employee performance and organizational financial performance.
