Responsibilities

This role is on site 5 days/week in Madison, WI.

Responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operation of the Control Room and its interactions with the lottery and vendors to ensure continuous system up-time and the highest level of operational efficiency.

  • Ensures control room operates in a continuous and trouble-free manner. Troubleshoots problems through shift leads and Computer Operators
  • Coordinates and schedules Computer Operators, directs work, and evaluates operational performance
  • Maintains inventory and orders supplies when necessary
  • Ensures performance plans, memos, and reports are distributed, understood, utilized and made available to all Computer Operators
  • Assists in revising or establishing new systems to improve productivity and computer efficiency. Develops procedures and control mechanisms to improve operations and reduce operational errors.
  • Interfaces daily with customers and vendors.
  • Monitors quality assurance and security of data.
  • Ensures daily production of systems to include software and hardware changes and serving as client liaison. Ability to define and perform verification that the test process has been performed correctly, analyze results and recommend test process improvements.
  • Monitors, tracks and manages the configuration, accessing delivery process of software coding for the lottery--including games, parameters, odds and claims.
  • Verifies and analyzes the accuracy and quality of the hardware and software products through maintenance, attention to detail and work environment. Provides recommendations to manager for systems needs and all external and internal factors related to the control room.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Years of Experience:

  • 2-4 years with balance of supervisory and technical skills

Preferred:

  • Basic understanding of lottery operations including systems, sales, retailer network management, POS (including wagers, validations, messages), game features, procurement and administration. General lottery operations including sales, security, back-up and internal control systems, retailer networks, prize payouts and ticket distribution. Technical knowledge operating systems utilities used to diagnose and identify hardware and software problems and failures

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $40,887 - $115,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
