Job description

Love retail, leadership, and an active lifestyle? Ready to lead a team and make a store your own?
Goodmiles Running Company in Brookfield is looking for a full-time Store Manager to lead our team, grow our business, and create an exceptional experience for every customer who walks through our doors.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced retail manager who enjoys developing people, driving sales, and being part of the action. You'll lead a small team of Fit Experts, work directly with customers on the sales floor, oversee the day-to-day operation of the store, and help Goodmiles build strong connections throughout the local running and fitness community.
You don't need to be a marathon runner or a footwear expert-we can teach you the shoes. We're looking for someone who knows retail, enjoys leading people, and is excited to build something great with their team.
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop Your Team
You'll lead a team of approximately 4-6 Fit Experts, creating an environment where people know what's expected of them, receive meaningful coaching, and are motivated to succeed.
You'll:
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new team members
  • Coach employees in sales, customer service, product knowledge, and shoe fitting
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback
  • Keep your team motivated around individual and store goals
  • Recognize great performance and help employees continue to grow
  • Build schedules that support both the team and the needs of the business

Drive Sales & Customer Experience
At Goodmiles, you'll lead by example on the sales floor, helping customers find the right shoes and gear while coaching your team to do the same.
You'll:
  • Lead customers through personalized shoe fittings
  • Recommend footwear, insoles, apparel, and accessories based on individual needs
  • Build your expertise in footwear, fit technology, and our brands
  • Monitor store and individual sales performance
  • Coach your team around sales goals, conversion, and customer experience
  • Look for opportunities to improve performance and grow the business

Your own performance matters-but as Store Manager, your biggest impact comes from helping your entire team succeed.
Keep the Store Running
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day details that create a great retail experience, including:
  • Employee scheduling and store coverage
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • POS and cash-handling processes
  • Merchandising and store presentation
  • Inventory organization
  • Maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well-run store
  • Communicating and partnering with our corporate team

We're looking for someone who is comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and keeping things moving.
Get Involved in the Community
Goodmiles is more than a shoe store-we want to be part of the running, walking, and fitness community around us.
You'll have opportunities to represent Goodmiles at local races, group runs, expos, and community events while building relationships with local gyms, clubs, wellness organizations, and other partners.
Whether you're an experienced runner or simply someone who enjoys an active lifestyle, you'll help make Goodmiles a welcoming place for every kind of mover.
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who has already built a foundation in retail and is ready to bring that experience to Goodmiles.
Required:
  • 2+ years of retail management experience
  • 2+ years of full-service retail experience
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing employees
  • Experience working toward sales goals and performance expectations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Organization, dependability, and follow-through
  • A customer-first approach to sales and service
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods

Experience in footwear, apparel, sporting goods, fitness, or specialty retail is a plus-but not required.
Most importantly, we're looking for a manager who enjoys being on the sales floor, developing a team, and taking pride in the performance of their store.
Compensation
  • $500 weekly base pay
  • 9.5% starting commission on qualifying sales
  • Bonus opportunities based on individual and store performance

Our compensation structure rewards strong selling while giving you the opportunity to earn more as you build your own performance and help your store succeed.
Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Pet insurance
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Employee discount on premium footwear and gear
  • Race and event fee reimbursement
