The Director, Agency Partnerships - DG Media Network leads one of DGMN's most strategic and high-growth sales verticals, overseeing a team of Account Executives responsible for building and scaling relationships across major holding companies, independent agencies, non-endemic advertisers, and alcohol partners. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on partnership development to drive revenue growth, unlock new business opportunities, and position DGMN as a premier retail media platform connecting brands with millions of shoppers across America's communities. The Director partners cross-functionally with internal planning, insights, activation, product, and merchandising teams to deliver integrated, data-driven media solutions while building a high-performing sales organization focused on long-term client success and measurable business impact.
Job Details
Duties & Responsibilities
§ Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing team of DGMN Account Executives focused on agency partnerships, non-endemic advertisers, and alcohol categories
§ Own and grow a strategic vertical of business by developing relationships across holding companies, independent agencies, and brand organizations while driving new revenue opportunities and long-term partnerships
§ Establish and maintain top-to-top relationships with senior agency and client stakeholders, positioning DGMN as a trusted strategic partner and driving joint business planning opportunities
§ Partner cross-functionally with Product, Insights, Operations, Media Planning, Merchandising, and Activation teams to develop integrated retail media strategies that deliver measurable sales impact and client KPIs
§ Lead pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue planning across the vertical while ensuring operational excellence and consistent achievement of sales targets
§ Represent DGMN externally within the advertising and retail media ecosystem, elevating marketplace presence through industry engagement, agency collaboration, and thought leadership
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
§ Proven experience evaluating media performance and insights to provide thought leadership and recommendations for action
§ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal, written, presentation, people, and diplomacy skills
§ Executive presence and readiness to engage with C-Suite leadership
§ Ability to oversee, lead, and develop team members cross functionally (ex. Category Marketing, Sales/Partnership Marketing, Data Science, Planning and Buying and Tech teams
§ Ability to navigate with cross functional tech teams and managing tech solution architects for ad hoc development needs
§ Bias for action to manage and make decisions to advance the work in a fast-paced environment
Work Experience &/or Education:
  • Experience leading a sales team in the media ecosystem, with demonstrable ability to hit and exceed targets
  • Experience engaging with retailers and CPG clients across marketing verticals, including Ecomm, Trade, Shopper Marketing and Digital Media
  • Comfort interpreting closed-loop media measurement tying marketing to sales using retail data
  • Proven client leadership skills; ability to develop relationships and influence
  • Analytical acumen to make decisions; understand and optimize media campaigns
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to internally partner on behalf of their team and their clients
  • Ability to articulate and translate client needs to inform a media plan and DGMN's roadmap
  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms as well as their use in marketing
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to share actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Bachelors' degree B.A. / B.S or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years experience in Marketing with 6+ Digital media and advertising experience, with at least 2 years managing a media sales team
  • Travel is highly encouraged to advance client relationships
