Job Description: Southwestern Consolidated Schools is seeking a team-oriented, enthusiastic professional educator with the ability to connect and build positive relationships with students, parents, and other members of the school community while providing an enriching, productive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Know his/her responsibilities and fulfill them to the best of his/her ability;
  • Become acquainted with specific building policies so he/she may be in harmonious

accord with school operation;
  • Report to the assignment everyday on time
  • Take the initiative to seek out the necessary directions and materials that will enable

him/her to perform his/her duties well;
  • Complete, as many as is feasible, extra duties and assignments, unless directed otherwise;
  • Regard himself/herself as a professional in every aspect. Inasmuch as the Substitute

Teacher is a strong line of defense in the school and community, he/she is expected to

Guidelines:

  • Greet your class with a smile and an air of friendly assurance and firmness.
  • Assure finesse. Learn the skills involved in developing a sensitivity to "storm signals" of discipline problems and in controlling difficult situations.
  • Remember that students modify their behavior more readily under praise than criticism.
  • Leave the room, teacher's desk, board, and supplies in good order when feasible and as time permits.
  • Send students from class with an appropriate hall pass when applicable.
  • Ask for assistance from other staff members or the principal.
