Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher

Reports to: Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher to join our school community for a 17.5 week assignment. This role will involve delivering quality instruction to students in 3rd grade and maintaining an effective classroom environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with the school's curriculum for students.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to provide a cohesive learning experience.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through both formal and informal assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student attendance, grades, and behavioral observations.
  • Provide support and guidance to students in both academic and social-emotional development.
  • Substitute for the regular teacher in all classroom responsibilities, including meetings, duty assignments, and school events.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required).
  • Valid teaching certification in Indiana (or ability to obtain if required).
  • Previous teaching experience in elementary education is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
