Job description

SPECIAL EDUCATION LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHER 
Putnam Elementary School is seeking an innovative and motivated special education long-term substitute teacher who can work to continue to shape a student-centered program designed to meet student needs across grades K through 4. Using trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral strategies, a strong candidate will collaboratively work with another special education teacher to lead and support staff in structured, supportive program. Putnam Elementary School offers a strong, collaborative culture of caring educators who leverage resources to nurture and challenge our students.  Putnam facilitates strong district-wide alignment and support across all three schools in the district to ensure the student's educational experience prepares them for the real world.
EXPERIENCE WITH: Delivering specialized instruction to support unique learning needs; Discrete Trial, ABA, and Behavioral data collection



 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
CT Certification 165 - Comprehensive Special Education, K-12; CT Certification 065-Comprehensive Special Education, PK-12; CT Certification 265 - Comprehensive Special Education, 1-12; or eligibility for Long-Term Substitute Authorization from the CSDE. (minimum of 12 semester hours of credit in the area requested)
 
 
START DATE: Immediate Opening for the remainder of the 2025-2026 School Year
RATE OF PAY: $160.00 per day
Beginning on day 41, a certified substitute teachers' rate of pay will be based on the first step of the teachers' contract.
