POSITION: Elementary School Teacher
Putnam Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate is a lifelong learner who excels at creating a safe, inclusive, and high-energy classroom environment. As an elementary teacher, you will be responsible for fostering students' social-emotional growth while delivering rigorous, standards-based instruction across all core subject areas.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instructional Excellence: Plan and implement engaging, differentiated lessons in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies aligned with State standards.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture built on mutual respect, clear routines, and restorative practices.
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with grade-level teams, specialists, and Special Education providers to ensure all students have equitable access to the curriculum.
  • Communication: Maintain open and proactive lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and well-being.
  • Professional Growth: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certification: Valid CT Teaching License/Certificate with appropriate endorsement or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience: Previous elementary school classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Skills: Excellent classroom management, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

RATE OF PAY: $56,198 - $100,761 per year (determined by contractual agreement)
