Logistics Specialist Lead-First Shift in  GAC Appleton


Unique Skills:

Previous experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.

Ability to lead by example, while training and developing a team.

Assign tasks to ensure support for all internal customer requirements in a timely, professional manner.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrate an ability to operate in a fast-paced, productive environment ensuring an efficient flow of material.


 

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 7 years experience in stockroom, warehouse or inventory control activities. 2 years progressive responsibility and recognized leadership qualities. CDI qualified for Customer Support. Valid Driver's License required. Position Purpose: Coordinate the operation of assigned stockroom functions, ensuring that all materials are processed in a responsive manner and adhere to corporate quality and safety standards. Provide work direction to employees in policies, procedures and safety regulations.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Monitor the receiving, stocking, disbursement, and/or shipping of material, ensuring that all paperwork and system transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner .
  2. Make high impact decisions effecting material flow (performance to schedule) and handling of high dollar inventory .
  3. Establish priorities to ensure efficient operations; plans and assigns work, provides input about employee performance, recommends recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions as required.
  4. Train newly assigned personnel and retrains employees on all material handling procedures. Identifies skills training requirements for assigned personnel and initiates as required.
  5. Develop operational and organizational improvements; coordinates implementation with effected parties .
  6. Ensure prompt and responsive customer service for applicable material processes supporting operations .
  7. Analyze problems and initiates corrective action as required.
  8. Audit departments to ensure procedures are followed by each employee .
  9. Ensure that all stockroom material conforms to FAA, GAC Quality Control and departmental procedures .
  10. Direct employees to deliver material within specified time limits .
  11. Interface with other departments to ensure integrity of inventory control; responsible for inventory accuracy of assigned area or function (high dollar and high volume) .
  12. For specific sites, responsible for day to day Tool Crib activities .
  13. Where applicable, ensure that cycle counts are performed in a timely manner .
Additional Functions:
  1. Perform weekly safety audits and ensures that all areas meet safety requirements .
  2. Oversee special projects (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, visual management, etc.) and ensures procedures are implemented and followed .
  3. Assist in developing work schedules and methods to improve efficiency of operations .
  4. Support a continuous improvement culture including lean principles, sustainability initiatives, ergonomic improvements, safety and cross functional teams .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Must have proficiency in inventory systems and Microsoft Office.
  2. Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.
  3. Able to effectively interact with all levels of management, technical and non-technical.
  4. Individual will have heavy customer contact.
  5. On feet most of shift.
  6. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  7. Must have a valid driver's license.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
