This role develops, implements, and continuously improves the transportation network strategy that optimizes carrier modes/capacity and trade compliance excellence as well as oversees all aspects of domestic and international transportation, import/export compliance, and associated IT applications across the business, including third-party distribution providers.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the logistics subject matter expert advising leadership regarding the logistics marketplace and impacts on internal and external customers. Analyze and report on market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence.
  • Executes strategic plans to expand and diversify our international logistics capabilities by collaborating with other departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and IT. Ensures alignment and integration of international logistics objectives and initiatives.
  • Determines the value of different transportation strategies and develops tools to measure vendor effectiveness. Utilizes the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process to drive out costs and improve logistic/transportation services.
  • Translates transportation strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans, and deliverables for the internal team.
  • Leads and manages transportation operations execution in all aspects of international and domestic inbound, outbound, and parcel/LTL transportation programs.
  • Participates in the full range of people-management responsibilities, including performance reviews, compensation recommendations, coaching and development, hiring recommendations, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in supply chain or operations management.
  • 3+ years' leadership/management experience in supply chain or operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations Management, or related field. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Logistics subject matter expert with proven transportation network optimization experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tier 1 Transportation Management Systems (TMS) provider and understanding of INCO terms preferred.
  • Experience working within ERP and TMS systems.
  • Strong Sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and present information.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including measurements, calculations, and volumes.
  • Analytical skills to review data and identify trends and anomalies required.
  • Ability to work from more than one location and/or remotely.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Travel- Occasional (5% or less)
