Job Summary 

The Warehouse Lead plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse facility. By taking the responsibility to manage a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of goods and materials. The Warehouse Lead will guide and motivate team members to meet operational goals, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure timely order fulfillment.  

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Plan with the Warehouse Supervisor by prioritizing daily warehouse activities, such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping, to meet operational goals and customer demands.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stock counts, proper storage, and timely replenishment.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software to track inventory, generate reports, and streamline warehouse processes.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements within the warehouse operations.
  • Use handheld scanners or other tools to track and update inventory levels.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment or pallet jacks to move items and pallets as necessary.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, checking for damaged or missing items, and recording discrepancies.
  • Organize and arrange products in the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and easy accessibility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse by properly disposing of packaging materials and keeping work areas tidy.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and warehouse regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report any inventory shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the warehouse supervisor or manager.  
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned.  
Required Skills and Abilities 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling and tracking inventory.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.
  • Computer skills to input and retrieve data from inventory systems.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and ability to operate warehouse equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Flexibility to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets.
Education and Experience 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.  
  • Previous experience as a lead or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements 
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, packages, and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds. This may involve repetitive lifting and carrying throughout the workday.
  • Standing and Walking: The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods as to navigate the warehouse floor, retrieves items, and moves between different areas of the facility.
  • Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Will frequently need to bend, stoop, and reach to access products, shelves, and storage areas. This requires flexibility and agility to perform tasks effectively.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Some warehouse tasks may involve pushing or pulling heavy carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.  
  • Climbing: Depending on the warehouse layout, it may be required to climb ladders, stairs, or platforms to access inventory or perform specific tasks. The ability to climb safely and confidently is essential.
  • Safety Awareness: Should be mindful of safety procedures and adhere to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
