Job description

This position is responsible for optimizing the transportation of goods by efficiently planning and organizing non-O'Reilly fleet shipments. Primary duties include planning, coordinating and monitoring the pickup and delivery of shipments. The Specialist will play a crucial role in the smooth and cost-effective operation of logistics and transportation services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Utilize transportation management software to plan and optimize routes for shipments.
Schedule and coordinate shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
Monitor transportation costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays and route deviations.
Process inquiries for rate estimates and service times.
Perform freight cost analysis on transportation expenses for shipments and special projects.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns and requests related to shipments.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain operations.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on excellent customer service
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer operations
