About the Role:

The Yard Jockey plays a critical role in the efficient operation of manufacturing and distribution facilities by managing the movement of trailers and containers within the yard. This position ensures that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading, facilitating smooth logistics and minimizing delays. The Yard Jockey is responsible for maintaining safety standards while operating yard trucks and coordinating with warehouse and shipping personnel. This role requires a keen attention to detail to track trailer locations and communicate effectively with team members to optimize yard flow. Ultimately, the Yard Jockey contributes to the overall productivity and safety of the manufacturing environment by ensuring timely and accurate trailer movements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate state-issued license for operating yard trucks.
  • Proven experience operating yard trucks or similar heavy equipment in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to yard operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret yard management documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
