Job Description

The Manpower Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting NBC Sports’ Scheduling team by coordinating workforce planning, staffing logistics, and technical crew operations across Olympic Games, Olympic Trials, and year-round Olympic sports coverage. This position serves as a central point of coordination for hiring, scheduling, onboarding, and supporting technical personnel within Operations and Engineering, helping to ensure events are staffed efficiently and executed successfully.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, live event environment. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Scheduling, Production, Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Payroll, vendors, freelancers, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support workforce planning and daily crew scheduling for Olympic Games, Olympic Trials, and year-round Olympic sports productions.
  • Coordinate technical crew assignments, staffing changes, schedule updates, and resource allocation to ensure operational coverage across events and venues.
  • Maintain accurate employee, crew, position, venue, event, and assignment data within scheduling systems and workforce management tools.
  • Prepare and distribute crew schedules, production communications, call sheets, travel information, contact lists, and event-specific documentation.
  • Partner closely with Production Managers, Technical Managers, Operations leaders, Engineering teams, and other stakeholders to identify staffing needs, coverage gaps, and schedule adjustments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for crew members regarding assignments, onboarding requirements, timekeeping processes, schedule updates, and general logistics.
  • Monitor staffing activity including schedule changes, callouts, replacements, and last-minute coverage needs, escalating critical issues as appropriate.
  • Support onboarding and operational readiness for technical hires, including employee documentation, training requirements, system access, and assignment preparation.
  • Maintain workforce reports, staffing trackers, scorecards, and operational documentation to support planning, payroll review, reporting, and post-event analysis.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support before, during, and after events to ensure a positive experience for crew members and internal partners.
Qualifications

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Sports Management, Media Operations, Business Administration, Human Resources, Event Operations, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in scheduling, workforce coordination, operations support, production support, event management, recruiting coordination, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining staffing, scheduling, payroll, and operational information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee and operational information with discretion and professionalism.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience supporting live sports, broadcast, media, production, engineering, technical operations, or remote production environments.
  • Familiarity with workforce management systems, crew scheduling platforms, timekeeping tools, and event staffing processes.
  • Understanding of live production operations, including technical crew workflows, venue operations, and production logistics.
  • Knowledge of Olympic sports, Olympic Trials, multi-sport events, or other large-scale sporting events.
  • Experience working with freelancers, temporary employees, vendors, or project-based workforces.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT, or another designated NBC Sports location as assigned.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, including extended assignments supporting Olympic events.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
