Job description

SUMMARY

The National Sales Manager position is responsible for implementing and monitoring national sales targets to meet company objectives. Responsible for executing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote national sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. Provides leadership and coordination of national sales and marketing functions. Assist with the development and implementation sales and marketing strategy. Strengthens and enhances the growth and stability of Warren by implementing sound sales and marketing principles to develop and service customers in accordance with company and department quality, sales, utilization, and profit objectives, and serving as liaison between the customer and Warren. Identifying and securing new freight opportunities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Director of Sales with annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Implements and executes Sales policies and practices.
  • Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.
  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies.
  • Trains, develops and manages a team of new and tenured National Sales Representatives.
  • Assists with company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services.
  • Assists the Director of Sales with the analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other National Sales accounts.
  • Assists with the planning and development of the company marketing and communications materials.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to the Director of Sales.
  • Provides recommendations for the optimal deployment of National Sales personnel, changing roles, coverage models, and/or team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum three years of sales or sales management experience in a business-to-business sales environment.
  • Minimum three years in a sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role.
  • Experience successfully managing analytically rigorous corporate initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Constantly in a stationary sitting position and occasionally will move around.

The essential functions of the role depend on providing in-person oversight, coaching, and real-time collaboration with fellow management and operations staff. Remote work would remove the employee from being able to provide direct supervision and eliminate the immediate coaching, escalation support, and call monitoring that the position provides. Because these functions are essential to the role, and remote work would not allow the employee to perform them effectively, working from home is not a reasonable or effective accommodation.
