PAY/WAGE TYPE: Salaried | Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Project Manager will lead strategic and tactical logistics initiatives across Plaskolite's North American supply chain network. This role is responsible for managing projects that improve freight cost, service performance, carrier execution, logistics technology, process standardization, and overall network efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader with strong logistics knowledge, analytical capability, and the ability to work with external logistics partners, as well as cross-functionally with manufacturing, customer service, and IT. This role will help drive continuous improvement across inbound, outbound, intercompany, and customer-facing transportation processes.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics Project Leadership
  • Lead logistics projects from concept through implementation, including scope definition, timelines, milestones, risks, deliverables, and post-project performance tracking.
  • Track project status, identify risks, escalate issues, and communicate progress to senior supply chain leadership.
  • Collaborate with incumbent 3PL partners to affect continuous improvement and deliver efficiency gains.
  • Develop business cases for logistics improvement opportunities, including cost savings, service improvements, productivity gains, and working capital impacts.

Transportation Optimization
  • Support initiatives to improve North American freight performance across truckload, LTL, parcel, dedicated fleet, intercompany transfers, inbound freight, and customer deliveries.
  • Analyze freight spend, carrier performance, lane activity, shipment profiles, accessorial charges, routing compliance, and service levels.
  • Identify opportunities for carrier consolidation, mode optimization, backhaul utilization, shipment consolidation, routing guide improvement, and freight cost reduction.

Process Improvement and Standardization
  • Develop and implement standardized logistics processes, SOPs, tools, scorecards, and reporting across Plaskolite's North American operations.
  • Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement efforts related to shipment planning, tendering, tracking, delivery execution, claims, freight audit, and issue resolution.
  • Support improved logistics visibility and communication between plants, distribution centers, carriers, customer service, and customers.

Systems, Data, and Reporting
  • Support implementation, enhancement, and adoption of logistics-related systems, including TMS, ERP, freight audit, carrier portals, reporting tools, and logistics dashboards.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to define requirements, test system changes, document processes, and train users.
  • Create and maintain logistics performance reporting, including cost, service, carrier performance, on-time delivery, shipment volume, claims, and project savings.

Change Management and Communication
  • Serve as a change agent for logistics transformation initiatives.
  • Communicate project objectives, timelines, responsibilities, and expected outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop training materials, implementation plans, and documentation to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes or systems.
    • Build strong relationships with site leadership and functional teams to support successful execution.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration
  • 3-7 years' experience in related field
  • Experience in manufacturing, building products, plastics, chemicals, packaging, or industrial distribution.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
