Job Summary:
The Operations Service Manager (OSM) is responsible for leading and supporting the branch's route driver team while ensuring exceptional service is delivered to clients. This hands-on leadership role oversees driver training, coaching, safety compliance, performance management, and daily route execution. The OSM works closely with branch leadership to maintain operational excellence, develop frontline associates, and ensure company standards are consistently met throughout all vending and micro market locations.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with experience in route-based operations, distribution, logistics, retail, or related service environments. This position requires a highly visible leader who is comfortable spending time in the field working alongside associates, building customer relationships, and driving accountability across the operation.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
• Leads, trains, coaches, and develops a team of route drivers to ensure high levels of service, safety, and operational performance
• Conducts regular ride-alongs, route observations, and performance discussions with drivers
• Oversees driver onboarding, training, performance management, disciplinary actions, and hiring activities
• Ensures associates remain current on required safety, compliance, and company training programs
• Performs regular audits of vending and micro market locations to verify merchandising, cleanliness, product quality, and service standards
• Partners with branch leadership to identify operational opportunities and implement corrective actions when needed
• Provides route coverage and operational support as business needs require
• Assists with refreshes, installations, client requests, and other operational initiatives
• Maintains positive relationships with clients and responds to service concerns in a professional and timely manner
• Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Qualifications & Experience:
• 3+ years of leadership experience in route-based operations, delivery, transportation, logistics, retail, warehouse, or related environments
• Proven ability to hire, train, coach, and develop frontline employees
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold associates accountable while maintaining positive working relationships
• Experience managing performance, safety programs, and operational standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Valid driver's license and willingness to spend significant time in the field supporting associates and clients
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support operational needs across the branch
