Position Summary
The Logistics Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the synchronized flow of materials and finished goods in a high volume, AI driven manufacturing environment. You will bridge the gap between production scheduling and customer delivery, ensuring that JST electronic connectors move through the supply chain with 100 percent accuracy and compliance with automotive industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Material Flow
Production and Material Flow Coordinate with the automated injection molding and stamping departments to ensure raw materials are staged and finished goods are cleared from the floor to prevent bottlenecks. Inventory Integrity Utilize the facility AI driven inventory systems to conduct audits and maintain high accuracy levels in the 540,000 square foot warehouse.
Customer Logistics and Freight
Customer Logistics Automotive and Appliance Manage the specific portals and labeling requirements for major OEMs Original Equipment Manufacturers. You are the primary point of contact for their Just In Time JIT shipping windows. Freight and Carrier Management Book and track inbound and outbound shipments across various modes such as TL, LTL, and Ocean Freight for international materials. Compliance Documentation Prepare and verify all shipping documentation including Packing Slips, Bills of Lading, and Customs paperwork for USMCA compliance.
Qualifications
Required Standards and Expertise
Quality Management Must understand IATF 16949 logistics requirements including labeling, traceability, and FIFO. Environmental Tracking Help track logistics related carbon emissions to support the plant green facility goals on Lake Guntersville. Advanced Tools High proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Transportation Management Systems TMS.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering. Alternative An Associate Degree in a related field combined with 5 plus years of direct experience in automotive or electronics manufacturing logistics. Professional Experience Requires 3 to 5 years of experience in a high volume manufacturing logistics or supply chain role. Proven experience handling import and export documentation and international freight. Direct experience working within IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Preferred Certifications
ASCM or APICS Certification CSCP Certified Supply Chain Professional or CLTD Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution. Six Sigma Green Belt Focused on lean material flow and waste reduction. Military Logistics Experience Veterans with experience in Movement Control or Transportation Management are highly encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods during inspections. Ability to inspect small parts and defects with or without magnification aids. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Ability to move between multiple workstations on the production floor. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternative shifts when required.
