Position Summary
The Senior Production Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing production schedules to meet customer demand, inventory goals, and operational objectives. This role ensures alignment between production capacity, material availability, labor resources, and business priorities. As a senior member of the planning team, this position supports process improvement, resolves planning constraints, and serves as a key liaison between Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service.
Reporting Relationships
The Senior Production Planner will report to the Production Planning Supervisor.
Location
This position will be based in Hialeah, FL.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, inventory levels, capacity, and material availability.
  • Prioritize and sequence production orders to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Adjust schedules as needed due to demand changes, material shortages, capacity constraints, or production disruptions.
  • Monitor schedule performance and communicate risks, changes, and recovery plans to stakeholders.

Material & Inventory Planning
  • Determine material, component, and resource requirements to support production plans.
  • Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages, excess stock, and production delays.
  • Support inventory accuracy and recommend improvements to material flow and planning processes.

Capacity Planning & Problem Solving
  • Evaluate labor, equipment, and production capacity to identify constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to resolve delays, shortages, or operational issues.
  • Recommend schedule adjustments and corrective actions to improve throughput and resource utilization.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze production data, inventory levels, and schedule performance to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports on key planning metrics, including schedule adherence, production performance, inventory status, and order progress.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help standardize planning processes and best practices.

Communication & Leadership
  • Serve as a key planning liaison across Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service.
  • Lead or support planning meetings and provide clear updates on priorities, constraints, and production status.
  • Provide guidance to planning team members as needed and promote accountability, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing environment experience required.
  • Fluent in English, oral and written; bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, material planning, inventory control, and capacity planning.
  • ERP/MRP system experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and influence team members and cross-functional partners.
