Summary

HII's System Integration group is seeking a Logistic Engineer to join our Fleet Sustainment group! This is a full-time role located at our Virginia Beach, VA office. As a Logistic Engineer you will play a critical role as part of the Integrated Training Systems Installation and Sustainment (ITSIS) support contract for the U.S. Navy. 

Develops integrated product support documentation, including operator guides, maintenance manuals, and logistics products. Supports the Combined IAMD and ASW Trainer (CIAT) with a moderately technical military background. Preferred candidates bring experience with AEGIS, AN/SQQ-89(V)15 Sonar, Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM), or other Surface Combat Systems.
What You Will Do
  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS): Monitor trouble reports and system failures. Coordinate with the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) to develop and maintain the lowest replacement units (LRU) for the system.
  • ILS: Maintain a spare parts pool in support of multiple operational CIAT sites. Maintain the tracking system for reporting component failure, and adjusting the supply support system necessary for training system reliability based on component failure rate.
  • Technical Writing: Generate, tech edit and redline both preventive and corrective maintenance documentation.
  • Preventive Maintenance System (PMS): maintenance procedures updating maintenance requirements for each site.
  • Obsolescence: Monitor and provide inputs for COTS obsolescence management.
  • Configuration Management (CM): Manage the system configuration in the iPDM database for accuracy and updates to components and technical documentation.
  • Confer with U.S Government customers and provide direct support to the ISEA.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience in Navy combat systems operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in both system acquisition and sustainment phase of life cycle support. 
  • Possess a general understanding of the Navy ILS process and its relation to training and lifecycle support at the level equivalent to a Work Center Supervisor (APL / NSN support, technical manual support, PMS). 
  • Experience with commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment. 
  • General knowledge with Windows and Redhat software within a combat system-computing infrastructure.
  • Knowledge / experience with AEGIS or other Navy Combat Systems required. 
  • Must have expertise in Microsoft Office applications particularly MS Power Point, MS Excel and MS Word (e.g. development of forms). 
  • Familiar with Outlook, Access, Project and Visio. Strong analytical, problem solving, and writing skills are critical.
  • Personal characteristics: initiative, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, capable of working under pressure, ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with iPDM software a plus.
  • Experience in ILS to include provisioning, PMS development, RCM analysis, training curriculum development, and level of repair analysis.
  • A current, active DoD security clearance. 
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in a shipboard environment. Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment.
