Job description

Summary/Objective

The logistics associate coordinates the logistical functions assisting in the life cycle of a product including distribution, internal allocation and delivery.  This position will verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments as well as prepare product for shipment.

Essential Functions

 ·         Receive all material and supplies.

·         Verify shipments against purchase orders and examine upon arrival.

·         Prepare items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier.

·         Maintain record keeping systems and mark material with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc.

·         Adhere to shipping and receiving procedures.

·         Operate lift trucks, hand trucks, or utilize tall moving ladders to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.

·         Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages, shortages, or any other problem.  Receive and process all defective parts or product to be returned for replacement or credit.

·         Load and drive small box truck to gamma every Tuesday. 

·         Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

·         Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.

·         Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.

·         Responsible for making arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order.

·         Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management.

·         Responsible for keeping adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.

·         Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
