The Logistics Coordinator Tier I provides foundational support for freight operations, assisting customers, carriers, and internal teams while accurately managing load setup and documentation. This role works moderately independently with the support of senior team members and is the entry point into the logistics coordinator career path.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional customer service via phone to customers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Use RMIS to onboard and manage carriers.
  • Identify correct service providers for shipments and price services appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records in the quote log.
  • Create contractual agreements between parties involved in the logistics process.
  • Resolve shipping and contractual issues in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Assist with phones as needed.
  • Collect shipment details from sellers and buyers, including pickup and delivery information.
  • Assign carriers with load information and generate required documentation.
  • Resolve shipping and contractual issues in a proactive and timely manner.

  • Make sure shipments are picked up and arrive according to schedule.
  • Undertake additional assigned duties as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in logistics and customer service preferred.
  • Requires basic computer and internet skills
  • Customer service focus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with the logistics and/or transportation industry.
  • Construction and Ag equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Spanish-speaking bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates may be requested to complete position-specific skills assessments.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Requires the ability to satisfactorily complete a background check.

Working Settings:
  • Full-time Salaried Exempt, not eligible for overtime.
  • Office hours are 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Central Time Zone, additional hours may be required depending on priorities.
  • Based in the Purple Wave headquarters in Manhattan, KS.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.

Compensation:
  • The salary varies based on experience and qualifications, but typically is $50,000 per year.
  • Monthly Bonus Program - determined by the Company's monthly revenue results and paid on a "percent to plan" payout formula (90% = $300, 100% = $600, 110% = $900, 120% = $1,200).
  • This position includes company-provided cell phone and computer equipment.
  • Health insurance, Dental insurance, and Vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with an employer match up to 4% starting the first day of employment.
  • Company-paid Life Insurance with options for supplemental coverage.
  • Fully paid Short-Term Disability provided by the Company.
  • 3 Weeks of PTO annually (details shared during onboarding).
