Job description

Position Overview

The Logistics Specialist supports transportation and distribution activities to help ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. This position is an onsite position Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, with potential overtime if needed.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate transportation needs for shipments and deliveries.
  • Assist with transportation activities during high-volume or emergency situations.
  • Follow established processes and procedures when scheduling and dispatching loads.
  • Work with team members to coordinate equipment and transportation resources.
  • Maintain transportation rate information and assist with customer pricing and quotes.
  • Build positive working relationships with carriers and transportation partners.
  • Monitor carrier performance and provide feedback to leadership as needed.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams to support on-time deliveries.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support company safety programs and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • SAP experience is a plus, but training can be provided.
