Job description

Temco Logistics is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Router to join our dynamic team. The Router plays a critical role in scheduling and dispatching drivers and technicians, managing daily delivery routes, and ensuring smooth communication between all stakeholders. This position is integral to maintaining efficiency and customer satisfaction in our final-mile delivery services. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers and technicians to designated locations based on predetermined schedules, customer requests, and operational needs. 

  • Open driving routes daily, ensuring all routes are efficiently planned and prepared. 

  • Monitor the driver’s progress throughout the day, tracking route schedules and delivery timings. 

  • Use routing software to optimize daily delivery routes, saving time and fuel. 

  • Schedule and confirm delivery teams daily, ensuring all teams are ready for deployment. 

  • Communicate professionally with internal staff, external customers, and vendors as needed. 

  • Prepare paperwork for daily routes and next-day deliveries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 

  • Thoroughly read route sheets and plan trips to maximize operational efficiency. 

  • Communicate with drivers to assess route schedules, timing of deliveries, and address any issues. 

  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch and contact customers when required to address inquiries or confirm deliveries. 

  • Complete daily paperwork, including delivery reports and route adjustments, and submit to management. 

  • Monitor and review delivery processes, ensuring adherence to company standards and identifying areas for improvement. 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Proficiency in routing software and mapping tools, with strong geographical knowledge of the local area. 

  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams. 

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Experience in logistics, dispatch, or route planning is preferred. 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and routing. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and proactively solve problems.
