Sales and Operations Manager

DHD Consulting

New York, NY

Full-time

Job description

About the Company

This organization is a social enterprise dedicated to bringing joy through food. It produces and delivers large volumes of diverse, high-quality meals to communities across New York on a daily basis. As a proud minority-owned business, the company places strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, while fostering a collaborative, purpose-driven environment where employees can grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact.
About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized, ownership-driven Sales & Operations Manager to lead our client sales and operations functions from end to end. This is not a siloed role — it sits at the

intersection of client sales, internal operations, data management, and logistics, requiring

someone who can shift gears fluidly across all of them in a single day.

You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients and institutional partners, owning the full

customer experience from initial inquiry through delivery resolution. At the same time, you’ll own

the internal systems, marketing materials, and sales channels that power this division — and

work hand-in-hand with our warehouse, purchasing, and logistics teams to make sure every

order is fulfilled accurately and on time.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, refuses to drop a ball, and wants a real

leadership footprint in a fast-scaling food production company. You'll have the autonomy to build

better systems and the accountability to own results.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and institutional partners — handling inbound inquiries, new orders, current order status, ETAs, special and custom requests, and general customer service.

• Make proactive outbound sales calls to current and prospective accounts.

• Send brochures, product catalogs, and marketing materials to clients via email and other channels.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, program coordinators, and administrators.

• Respond to all customer communications with professionalism, clarity, and

follow-through — no loose ends.

Internal Systems, Data & Sales Channels

• Own and maintain internal sales channels, CRM systems, and order management tools.

• Accurately enter, update, and audit order data, client records, and inventory information across systems.

• Generate reports and summaries to track order volume, fulfillment accuracy, and account status.

• Maintain marketing materials, product sheets, and client-facing collateral — keeping them current and organized.

• Build trackers, templates, and tools in Google Sheets or Excel to streamline workflows.

• Identify gaps in systems and processes and propose practical improvements — including leveraging AI tools and workflow automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Operations, Logistics & Warehouse Coordination

• Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to manage daily routing, prioritize orders, and maintain operational flow.

• Assist with purchasing decisions and liaise with vendors on product needs.

• Address and resolve missing items, delivery discrepancies, and logistical issues quickly and thoroughly.

• Schedule and track deliveries, escalating time-sensitive issues with urgency.

• Monitor inventory levels, expiration dates, and product accuracy to prevent fulfillment errors.

• Serve as a cross-functional communication bridge between fulfillment, warehouse, sales, and finance teams.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• 2–4 years of experience in sales, logistics, operations, e-commerce, or order fulfillment — food or institutional sectors are a strong plus.

• A natural multi-tasker with exceptional attention to detail — you can manage a dozen open threads without dropping one.

• Strong ownership mentality — you don't wait to be asked, and you see every task through to completion.

• Excellent communication skills: clear, professional, and proactive with both clients and internal teams.

• High proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel — filters, formulas, and pivots are second nature (or you learn fast).

• Comfortable with numbers, data analysis, data entry, data management, reports

• Experience with CRM management and order management systems.

• Ability to remain highly organized and composed under pressure in an environment where things change daily.

• Strong data entry skills — high accuracy, high volume, no shortcuts.

• Self-starter with a bias for action and a solutions-first mindset.

• Comfortable using AI tools and automating workflows — you embrace technology as a force multiplier and actively look for ways to work smarter, not just harder.

• Team player who genuinely wants to help build better systems and take the company to the next level.
