Role Overview
The Supply Chain Specialist develops scalable reporting, automation, and data visualization solutions that convert complex supply chain data into actionable business insights. This role is responsible for building and maintaining back-end reporting logic, relational database queries, automated data flows, Power BI dashboards, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions that improve operational visibility, reduce manual work, and enable data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical development skills with business acumen, curiosity, and the ability to partner with supply chain stakeholders to translate requirements into accurate, user-friendly, and sustainable digital solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Supply Chain Operational Excellence:
โ€ข Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and scorecards that support supply chain performance management.
โ€ข Develop reliable back-end reporting solutions using Power Query, SQL, relational databases, data modeling, data transformation, and documented business logic.
โ€ข Build automated data flows, pipelines, and workflow solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and related Microsoft 365 capabilities.
โ€ข Partner with supply chain, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver scalable reporting and automation solutions.
โ€ข Integrate data from ERP systems, relational databases, spreadsheets, SharePoint, and other enterprise sources while promoting data accuracy, consistency, and governance.
โ€ข Create and maintain metrics, KPIs, and OKRs that provide clear visibility to supply chain performance, process efficiency, service levels, and improvement opportunities.
โ€ข Analyze business processes and data flows to identify manual effort, reporting gaps, data quality issues, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
โ€ข Optimize and validate reports, queries, data models, and refresh processes for performance, maintainability, security, and stakeholder/report receiver approval, ensuring long-term sustainability.
โ€ข Develop clear technical documentation, user guidance, and training materials to support adoption and ongoing support of reports, dashboards, and digital tools.
โ€ข Support digital transformation initiatives by evaluating and applying emerging capabilities in automation, analytics, AI-assisted development, and low-code/no-code solutions where appropriate.
โ€ข Manage multiple assigned initiatives simultaneously, including planning work, tracking milestones, communicating progress, escalating risks, and delivering solutions on schedule.

Knowledge, Skills & Education
โ€ข Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or related field. Equivalent combinations of relevant education, technical training, certification, and practical experience may be considered.
โ€ข Analytical and Database Skills: 3-5 years of experience with relational databases, SQL scripting, data modeling, data transformation, data validation, and KPI/OKR development. Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and root causes, and convert findings into practical business recommendations. Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, semantic models, and governed reporting environments is preferred.
โ€ข Report Development and Visualization Skills: 3-5 years of experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and interactive visualizations. Demonstrated ability to design reports that are accurate, intuitive, performant, and aligned to stakeholder decision-making needs.
โ€ข Automation and Power Platform Skills: Practical experience developing business process automation using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps. Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, SQL databases, ERP data, APIs, or other enterprise systems is preferred.
โ€ข Technical Development Skills: Ability to develop maintainable solutions using structured logic, reusable components, clear naming conventions, testing practices, and technical documentation. Object-oriented programming, web development, Python, JavaScript, VBA, API integration, or robotic process automation experience is a plus.
โ€ข Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Skills: General understanding of how AI-assisted tools, automation, and emerging analytics capabilities can improve development productivity, reporting quality, and business process efficiency. Experience applying AI responsibly in a business or developing, testing, and/or deploying AI agents is a plus.
โ€ข Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, financial information, and technical procedures. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation, as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and other stakeholders.
โ€ข Reasoning Ability: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations, identify practical solutions, and make sound decisions in environments with limited standardization. Ability to interpret and apply information provided in written, verbal, diagrammatic, or schedule-based formats.
โ€ข Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database/reporting tools. Experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and business software applications. Knowledge of SAP, CRM, Windchill, SharePoint, or similar enterprise platforms is preferred. Experience with MS Project, Primavera, or other project management software is a plus.
