About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Hematology and Oncology MD in Virginia!

We are seeking a dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist Physician for a 45-day assignment starting Sep 8, 2026, in Virginia. This role involves managing current treatment plans, primarily focusing on hematology cases with some minor medical oncology. The schedule is Monday – Thursday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, seeing 13-15 adult patients daily, and includes telephone-only call coverage every other week.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage current treatment plans.
  • Handle mainly Hematology cases and minor medical oncology cases.
  • See 13-15 adult patients per day.
  • Provide telephone-only call coverage every other week; this can be done remotely by telephone, with no expectation to return to the hospital after hours.
  • Work schedule is Monday – Thursday, 8 am - 4:30 pm.

Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Hematology is required.
  • The EMR system used is Athenahealth.
