Locum Medical Provider
Temporary, Three-Month Assignment with Possible Extension
Salary Range: $120$165 per hour, depending on licensure and experience

The NATIVE Project is seeking a compassionate and experienced Locum Medical Provider to support primary care services in our community health clinic. This is a temporary, three-month assignment with the possibility of extension based on clinic needs, provider availability, and organizational approval.

The Locum Medical Provider will deliver high-quality outpatient care to patients in a culturally responsive, team-based environment. This role supports access to timely care, continuity of services, accurate documentation, and whole-person care for the Native and non-Native communities served by The NATIVE Project.


Position Summary

The Locum Medical Provider is responsible for providing direct outpatient primary care services within their licensed scope of practice. This position works closely with the Medical Team, Clinic Director, Medical Assistants, Patient Services, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, Care Coordination, and Quality Improvement staff to support safe, effective, and patient-centered care.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient primary care services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, and referrals.
  • Complete patient visits in accordance with clinical standards, organizational policies, and scope of practice.
  • Prescribe medications, order labs, review results, and coordinate follow-up care as appropriate.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with Medical Assistants, nurses, behavioral health providers, pharmacy, care coordinators, and other members of the care team.
  • Support access to care by helping maintain patient flow, timely appointments, and responsive follow-up.
  • Provide care in a manner that reflects The NATIVE Projects values, including Sacred Hospitality, cultural respect, compassion, and service to community.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, clinical documentation standards, and organizational procedures.
  • Monitor outcomes and collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to support program effectiveness and compliance with national standards, such as GPRA, UDS, and NCQA.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Washington State license as an MD, DO, or ARNP.
  • Current DEA registration, or ability to obtain one as required for the assignment.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Experience providing primary care in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Experience in a community health, tribal health, FQHC, rural health, or underserved care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive care and serving diverse communities.


Schedule & Duration

This is a temporary locum assignment for an initial period of three months, with the possibility of extension based on clinic needs, provider availability, and organizational approval. Schedule and hours may vary depending on clinic coverage needs.


Compensation

The salary range for this position is $120$165 per hour, depending on licensure, experience, scope of practice, and assignment structure.
