Job Title: RN CVOR Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVOR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 05:15 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in cardiac surgery Description: Weekly hours are 40. Start time is 06:45 and end time is 17:15. Work days are rotating based on an 8-week schedule. Call requirements include 12 shifts, each shift being 12 hours within an 8-week schedule. The unit has 8 cardiac operating rooms. There are 7 cardiac surgeons on the team. The number of cases performed per operative day ranges from 9 to 16. Over 2000 cardiac cases are performed annually. The cases include open and robotic cardiac surgeries. The team is involved in heart failure and heart transplant procedures. Each case typically requires 1 first assistant, unless a vein is needed from both femoral and radial sources. Other roles in each case include 1 certified surgical technologist, 1 heart holder RN, and 1 circulator.
