Description:
Seeking a Pathologist for coverage due to a shortage.
The practice setting is a hospital-based pathology lab.
Responsibilities will include general anatomic pathology, frozen section analysis, and cytology.
The current surgical pathology volume is approximately 13,000 surgical specimens and 3,000 cytology specimens per year.
The pathologist will be responsible for grossing their own specimens.
They will also be cutting their own frozen sections on the cryostat.
There will be other pathologists present during the coverage.
The pathology team includes four physicians, five histotechnologists, one pathology assistant, and two cytotechnologists.
Documentation will be managed through EPIC/Beaker.
A cytology proficiency exam is required for GYN cytology.
The laboratory holds CLIA and NYS certifications.
The estimated credentialing timeframe is 40 to 45 days.
No supervision of other healthcare providers will be required.
This position does not include on-call responsibilities.
