Locum Anesthesiologist Opportunity San Francisco Bay Area

Start Date: ASAP, ideally within 60-90 days

Assignment Length: 26+ weeks (extension likely)

Schedule: Full-time, MondayFriday, 7:00 AM5:00 PM (5x10s or 4x10s)

Rate: Negotiable all-inclusive rate based on commitment

Credentialing Timeline: 6090 days

Palm Health Resources is actively recruiting a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist for an extended locum assignment in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large academic health system with float coverage across a variety of high-acuity and ambulatory surgery locations. Ideal for providers looking to maintain clinical variety and autonomy in one of the countrys most iconic metro areas.

Position Overview
  • Facility Type: Large Academic Health System (Float Pool Assignment)
  • Coverage: Scheduled clinical hours only No call
  • Sites Include: Inpatient and outpatient campuses (main campus + multiple sister sites)
  • Case Types: General anesthesia (no cardiac, neuro, or liver)
  • Population: Adolescents (13+) and adults
  • Practice Model: Mix of solo cases and occasional CRNA oversight
  • EMR: Epic
Clinical Settings

Providers will float between a combination of hospital ORs and ambulatory surgery centers, depending on need. High acuity inpatient care is expected, with flexibility to rotate into outpatient sites. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Shifts: 5x10s or 4x10s minimum 40 hours/week
  • Holidays: Paid at 1.5x rate on recognized holidays
  • Support: CRNAs onsite (solo practice required for some sites)
Requirements
  • Board Certification: Required (or truly Board-Eligible if fellowship trained)
  • Licensure: Active California medical license required
  • DEA: Required (CA-specific, Schedule 2/2N)
  • Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in anesthesia; experience in tertiary care settings preferred
  • Skills: Regional skills preferred (not required)
