Job description

SUMMARY
Performs all Lockbox Clerk functions under the direction of the Supervisor. Must have knowledge of all department systems equipment. Banking and accounting experience is a MUST.
RATE
Clerks can earn up to $13.75 an hour.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all department equipment including Trans. Remittance Processors, OPS (mail opening processor), Image Scanner Processor and all PC equipment.
  • Monitor all work performance of Lockbox for accuracy and productivity in compliance to that of the contract
  • Process work being transmitted accurately through batch control.
  • Make sure all payments received are secured in the Lockbox area.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members
  • Work under the direction of the Supervisor and Lead.
    QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience
  • Experience in a financial payment processing environment
  • Ability to motivate people
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Good 'people skills' for building relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to plan and prioritize your own work and other people's
  • Understanding of computer systems and workflow of department
  • Decision-making ability
  • Accuracy with record keeping
  • Candidate must be available to work between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret internal business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and volumes
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Moderate noise in business office with computers, mail opening machines and printers
