Description
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for the accurate and efficient flow of inventory into and out of the warehouse. This role processes inbound shipments, prepares and ships outbound orders, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable with warehouse management systems, and thrives in an environment where accuracy and timeliness directly impact customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Outbound Orders
  • Manage outbound shipping across all carrier types selecting the appropriate method and ensuring compliance with carrier and customs requirements.
  • Ensure that all orders are shipped in a timely manner
  • Conduct quality checks on orders to ensure there are no discrepancies
  • Accurately ship out all orders, making sure that there are no issues
  • Effectively communicate with the Fulfillment team as needed
  • Apply the "see something, say something" rule when it comes to shipments in question
Receiving
  • Account and sign for all inbound shipments
  • Report any discrepancies to Inventory Control Specialist or Supervisor
  • Receive shipments into inventory using ERP system
  • Assign bins to shipment in a timely manner
  • Own documentation review for international inbound shipments - commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs paperwork.
RMA Processing
  • Receive and document all lockbox returns within the assigned turnaround time
  • Place and transfer lockboxes to their designated areas
  • Communicate all Salesforce returns accordingly
Process Improvement & Operations
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready receiving and shipping records and supporting documentation.
  • Identify roadblocks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop or modify standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed

Additional Duties as Assigned
  • Assist with Inventory Control functions as needed
  • Helping the Fulfillment teams pack as needed
  • Helping create boxes as needed
  • Lockbox refurbishment
  • Help with Smart Home returns
  • Become familiar with pairing and testing devices
  • Assist with special projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives as needed
Equipment, Facilities & Safety
  • Operate material handling equipment (forklift certification required).
  • Check, maintain, and operate equipment in accordance with maintenance and safety guidelines
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Provide basic facilities support as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities and projects as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
  • Warehouse operations experience, including return processing
  • MRP/ERP experience required (NetSuite ERP and Salesforce CRM preferred)
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (e.g., VLOOKUPs)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Licensed and trained to operate powered industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • This position operates in a warehouse environment and may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures depending on season and weather

For applicants located in California, the salary range for this full-time role is expected to be $22.00 - $24.00 per hour. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Rently reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, and that the expected salary range may be different for candidates located outside of California.
