Union Operating Electrician - Heavy Civil Construction
Trumbull-Brayman Joint Venture Montgomery Lock & Dam Project - Monaca, Pennsylvania
Trumbull Corporation is seeking an experienced Union Operating Electrician to support the Montgomery Lock & Dam Project in Monaca, Pennsylvania, a major U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) infrastructure project with an estimated 8-year duration.
This is a long-term, full-time position supporting a large-scale heavy civil construction project involving structural concrete work, dam and lock rehabilitation, and complex infrastructure construction. The Operating Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems that support construction equipment, temporary power systems, and project facilities.
This position offers stable, long-term employment on a high-profile federal infrastructure project.
Schedule & Compensation
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday - approximately 40 hours per week, with additional overtime available based on project needs and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
This is a union position, and the successful candidate will become a member of the applicable Operating Engineers Local.
Compensation includes:

Key Responsibilities
The Operating Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems that support heavy civil construction operations while ensuring safe and reliable power distribution across the project site.
Responsibilities include:
  • Installing and maintaining temporary power systems across the construction site
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems on construction equipment and jobsite facilities
  • Installing and maintaining generators, power distribution panels, lighting systems, and electrical connections
  • Supporting electrical needs for construction equipment, pumps, compressors, and other jobsite systems
  • Inspecting electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Performing preventative maintenance and responding to electrical issues in the field
  • Ensuring all work complies with company safety policies, USACE requirements, and electrical codes
  • Coordinating with project supervision, mechanics, and equipment operators to support field operations
  • Maintaining safe and organized work areas

The Operating Electrician is expected to work independently and as part of the project team to maintain safe, reliable electrical systems that support daily construction activities.
Qualifications & Education
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical experience, preferably in construction or industrial environments
  • Experience installing and maintaining temporary construction power systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical distribution systems and jobsite power equipment
  • Working knowledge of generators, transformers, panels, and electrical distribution systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to maintaining safe work practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Union electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training preferred
  • Recent and verifiable work history required

Work is performed outdoors on an active heavy civil construction project. Duties involve working around heavy equipment, electrical systems, and construction operations in varying weather conditions.
